Dental Bridges

Nyack dentist Dr. Jacob Wallach offers several types of dental bridges for patients with missing teeth. A dental bridge is used to “bridge” the gap between teeth. Essentially a series of prosthetic teeth, a dental bridge may either be secured with dental crowns or dental implants.

Dental bridges supported by dental implants are the preferred treatment of Dr. Wallach because they are more effective and long lasting. Dr. Wallach will assess your situation and select the best dental bridge for you.

Types of Dental Bridges

Removable Dental Bridge

Dr. Wallach uses removable dental bridges only as a short-term treatment. A removable bridge can help to maintain the position of surrounding teeth while a patient is preparing to have a fixed dental bridge or dental implant.

Fixed Dental Bridge

A fixed dental bridge is permanently connected either with dental implants or dental crowns which cover the teeth on either side of the gap. Dr. Wallach prefers dental implants when possible because they are self supporting and long lasting.

Dental Bridge vs. Dental Implant

If you are considering a dental bridge vs. dental implant, the best place to start is a consultation with Dr. Jacob Wallach. He will evaluate your condition and determine which treatments are right for you. Not everyone is a candidate for a dental implant, based on the location of the missing tooth, bone health and other factors. Dr. Wallach will outline the various treatment options available to you along with the treatment schedules and associated costs. Together, you will choose the right treatment for your needs, goals and budget.
